One day while seeing my own osteopath, I approached the homeopathic practitioner who shared his office suite, begging him to treat my dogs. He agreed to work with me, but suggested that there was a veterinary homeopath in a nearby state that may be a better choice. Of course I was skeptical about working with someone who was 700 miles away, but I was also desperate. After contacting this practitioner by phone, I was surprised to learn that it was not necessary for a homeopath to see the animals, because careful questioning by the practitioner and observations from me were the keys to successful treatment. Slowly I began to learn, and eventually believe in, homeopathic health care. This required me to literally ‘throw out’ countless misconceptions that I grew up with and clung to, being the daughter of an allopathic physician. My learning curve was slow and I repeatedly flew this insightful veterinarian to our area to ‘examine’ my animals. I laugh now, in retrospect, because it was not important to HER to see my dogs, but it was critical for ME to have her look at the animals. She knew this, and complied to ‘help me on my journey’. Over the course of time, this wonderful homeopathic practitioner and I became good friends and as a result she unselfishly referred me to Dr. Levy, feeling that he would be able to treat my animals more objectively. I am forever grateful to her for wisdom, patience and caring.
I have now worked with Jeff Levy for nearly four years. He has saved the life of my German Shepherd puppy, which now enjoys excellent physical and mental health (see Belladonna in Chronic Disease), has greatly improved the quality of life of my 15-year-old English Setter and restored sanity back to our entire household. It is so apparent that at each appointment Jeff gives 110% as he works with me to find the correct remedy. He possesses a true gift of insight/intuition that is rare, but common to all healers. In addition, my work with Dr. Levy has educated me to be an astute observer, to develop better communication and trust with my animals and allows me the piece of mind knowing that they are experiencing a very deep curative response at each step of their treatment. I have never personally met Jeff Levy, and I know that it is not warranted. In fact, just two years ago, Jeff was teaching in a nearby city. I did not even attempt to arrange a meeting for the animals. (Just a few years ago I would have pleaded with him to see us.) The relationship is working perfectly now, Dr. Levy is ‘batting 1000’ for my animals.
Initiating homeopathic treatment is the single best thing I have ever done for my animals. It is far less expensive, less stressful for me and more pleasant for the animals. Changing a lifetime of beliefs and misconceptions was challenging at times, but I could never raise animals any other way. I trust Jeff Levy implicitly; in our lives he has been a godsend. I remain grateful for his commitment and expertise. I feel so strongly about my experience, that I am happy to discuss it with others. Feel free to contact me.

Homeopathy has been our medicine of choice for some years now and we are proud to work with some of America’s finest homeopathic veterinarians. We felt honored when Jeff Levy agreed to join our team and are delighted that we can now report great progress in the health of his BrightHaven cat, dog and horse patients.
We, of course, work entirely by telephone and have been incredibly impressed with Doctor Jeff’s ability to probe deeply into the character and temperament of his patients whilst showing a deep understanding of their complex physical symptoms. Working by telephone with such a sensitive and competent prescriber is invaluable and almost completely eliminates the need for stressful veterinary visits for our animals.
Thanks so much Doctor Jeff!!

When I first contacted Dr. Jeff Levy, I had a 15-month-old Doberman who was afflicted with a poor immune system. Treasure had one infection after another, including anal glands, ears, urinary tract, respiratory, and several different skin infections. He was unhealthy despite the fact that I was feeding him a very healthy diet.
Unfortunately, I was treating every infection with antibiotics. I visited several veterinarians and this was the only way that they knew how to help Treasure. By one year of age, he had been on antibiotics at least six or seven times. What was worse was that the antibiotics were not helping his infections anymore. I was beside myself. Not only was it stressful watching him suffer with these problems, but I had also spent over $2000 trying to find out what was wrong with him. The last thing recommended to me by a specialist was allergy testing. I had to draw the line there. I did not want my dog to spend a full day the veterinarian’s office while he was pricked and poked with needles to find out if he was allergic and to what.
I also had tried other so-called homeopathic veterinarians only to find out that they really weren’t homeopathic. They actually practiced both homeopathy and western medicine.
Then I met Dr. Jeff Levy. He is a true classical homeopathic veterinarian who practices only homeopathy.
Dr. Levy instructed me to write about Treasure and gather all of his medical records before I met with him. My first appointment lasted almost 3 hours. It was intense and so very different than anything I had experienced in animal care. Dr. Levy took great pains to select Treasure’s remedy. That was in October of 2001. I am happy to report that Treasure has not been on an antibiotic again (one and a half years as of this writing). Treasure is in wonderful physical and mental condition. In fact, he is a titled agility dog who is 2.5 years old at this time. Treasure is with me as a working dog almost 24 hours a day. It’s so nice to know that he did not have to be inundated with drugs and antibiotics to cure his problems.
I then had the opportunity bring my other Doberman, Makana, to see Dr. Levy. Makana is seven and a half years old and also a highly titled agility dog. He was attacked by another dog last summer (2002) and was brutally injured. He also was emotionally traumatized by the experience. Dr. Levy suggested that I bring Makana to see him as he felt that homeopathy help Makana recover from his experience. I feel strongly that the remedy given to Makana did help with his trauma. He is still under Dr. Levy’s care as we watch his improvements. The experience was so brutal that this will take some time, but I’m patient and so glad to have Dr. Levy helping Makana and me.
Most recently, I have brought my third dog to Dr Levy. Jenna is a 13-year-old Greyhound whom we have discovered has a leaky valve in her heart. She was coughing a great deal and had difficulty breathing whenever she got excited or during walks. Conventional veterinarians wanted to put Jenna on a drug that may or may not have helped her comfort level. This drug very possibly could have hurt her kidneys and I was very worried about that. I contacted Dr. Levy and told him that my main objective with Jenna was not to make her live forever but simply to keep her as comfortable as possible and that if this drug was going to do that, and a homeopathic remedy was not, then I would be more comfortable with the drug. He assured me that he could help Jenna both with comfort level and also to actually cure her heart condition. He said the only problem with curing her was the fact that she is 13 years old. He explained that we may not have enough time to completely cure the condition but he was sure he could help her with comfort more so than the western drugs would. Also, a homeopathic remedy would not jeopardize her other organs.
Well, we are on about our sixth month of treatment and Jenna is doing so well! I am so pleased. She seems very comfortable and the remedy has improved other symptoms of hers as well. Jenna’s breathing has shown signs of improvement. She is very healthy and energetic and takes hour-long walks with me each day. I’m thrilled with the results so far.
An additional note: I am a Professional Dog Trainer and I have spoken about Dr. Levy to many of my clients who are having severe or recurrent medical problems. Several of these clients have been to see Dr. Levy and have experienced the same positive results that I have.
I am most grateful for having learned about the dangers of western medicine. When I see dogs at my training center or elsewhere wearing tick collars or having that telltale damp stripe on their back from a topical flea/tick killer, I am so glad that I have learned not to subject my dogs to those poisons. Without Treasure’s experience, I probably would not have known these things.
I wish you luck with your pets. We all love our pets so much! It’s nice to know we don’t have to load them up with drugs and vaccines to keep them happy!
